Eloy de la Iglesia, who passed away last year, was a cult film maker that focused on the low life of young criminals and petty thieves of Madrid's slums as well as class conflicts and social issues. His movies are strong and full of powerful images despite the sometimes terrible acting (sometimes the real delinquents acted their own characters) and low budget.
