简介：The hit indie video game Bendy and the Ink Machine is heading to the big screen, and the Official Bendy® has announced today that the movie adaptation has found its director in André Øvredal (The Last Voyage of the Demeter, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark).
The premise of the game has it set in 1966, where an elderly animator named Henry, who upon an invitation from his old friend Joey Drew, returns to his old animation studio. Once there, Henry discovers that the studio has been overrun by nightmarish cartoon characters that have been created by the titular Ink Machine. As Henry navigates his former workplace, trying to put a stop to things, he will be forced to fight the characters based on his drawings, as well as avoiding Bendy, the studio’s mascot, who is intent on killing Henry.
Last month, franchise creator TheMeatly took to socials to tease that the movie adaptation will combine practical effects and CGI. He said, “Considering the complexity and fantasy of the #BENDY world, I’m aiming for a combination of both practical effects and cgi polish to pull it all together. We are working with creative people who tend to feel the same.”
